✧ that he said to Suhayb: "You are a man, were it not for three traits." He said: "And what are they?" He said: "You have taken a kunya while you have no child, you have affiliated yourself with the Arabs while you are a man from the Romans, and in you is extravagance in food." He said: "O Commander of the Faithful, as for your saying that I took a kunya while I have no child, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me the kunya Abu Yahya. As for your saying that I affiliated myself with the Arabs while I am a man from the Romans, I am a man of al-Namir b. Qasit; I was captured from Mosul after I had been a boy who knew my family and lineage. As for your saying that in me is extravagance in food, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The best of you is the one who feeds others.'"
