✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us while we were in the Suffa after Maghrib. He said, “O so-and-so, go with so-and-so,” and “O so-and-so, go with so-and-so,” until I remained among five, I being the fifth of them. He said, “Come with me.” We did so, and we entered upon Aisha, and that was before the hijab was revealed. He said, “O Aisha, feed us.” She brought a small dish of herbs. Then he said, “O Aisha, feed us.” She brought a small amount of hais, like the size of a small bird. Then he said, “O Aisha, give us something to drink.” She brought a large wooden bowl. Then he said, “If you wish, you may sleep with us, or if you wish, you may go to the mosque and sleep there.” He said: So we slept in the mosque. Then the Prophet ﷺ came to me at the end of the night and found me sleeping on my stomach. He nudged me with his foot and said, “What is it with you and this sleep? This is a sleep that Allah dislikes or detests.”
