Virtues of the Five Prayers

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ الْعَدْلُ بِمَرْوَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَاسَوَيْهِ ثنا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السُّكَّرِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ يَقُولُ

«كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ إِذَا رَأَى الْمُؤَذِّنَ لَا يُدْخِلُ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ يَصِيحُ بِهِ أنفست بكوش أنفست بكوش»

✧ Abdullah b. al-Mubarak, when he saw a mu’adhdhin not inserting his two fingers into his ears, would shout at him: “Anfasta bi-kawsh? Anfasta bi-kawsh?”
