أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثَنَا مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَطَّارُ ثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ بِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بِالطَّفِّ فَجَاءَ الرَّعْلُ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ

أَنَّ أَهْلَ الطَّفِّ لَا يُؤَدُّونَ الزَّكَاةَ فَبَعَثَ بِلَالٌ رَجُلًا يَسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ فَوَجَدَ الرَّجُلَ يُطْعَنُ فِي نَسَبِهِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى بِلَالٍ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَكَبَّرَ بِلَالٌ وَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ سَعَى بِالنَّاسِ فَهُوَ بِغَيْرِ رِشْدَةٍ وَفِيهِ شئٌ مِنْهُ»

✧ The people of al-Taff do not pay zakah. Bilal sent a man to ask about what they say, and the man found that he was being reviled in his lineage. He returned to Bilal and informed him, so Bilal said the takbir and said: My father narrated to me from Abu Musa who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever slanders people is of illegitimate birth, and there is something of that in him."
