حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُظَفَّرٍ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْعُتْبِيُّ بِمِصْرَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ
«تُوُفِّيَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أُمُّ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ وَهِيَ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَتْ بِنْتُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَدَفَنَهَا بِالْبَقِيعِ»

✧ "Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib, the mother of Zubayr b. al-Awwam, died in the year 20 AH, and on the day she died she was seventy-three years old. Umar b. al-Khattab prayed over her and buried her in al-Baqi'."
