حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَزَّازُ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ثنا زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ

سَمِعَتِ الصَّرْخَةَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ لِجَارِيَةٍ اذْهَبِي فَانْظُرِي فَجَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ وَجَبَتْ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ كَانَتْ أَحَبَّ النَّاسِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَّا أَبَاهَا»

✧ She heard the cry over Aisha and said to a servant girl, "Go and look." She came back and said, "She has passed away." Umm Salama said, "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, she was the dearest of people to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except her father."
