✧ Her brother's sons said to her: 'Grant him permission, for he is among the best of your children.' She said, 'Leave me from praising him.' They kept at her until she permitted him. When he entered upon her, Ibn 'Abbas said: 'You were named Mother of the Believers so that you may be felicitous, and it was your name before you were born. You were among the most beloved of the Prophet's ﷺ wives to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved only what is good. Between you and meeting the beloved ones is nothing but the soul's departure from the body. Your necklace fell on the night of al-Abwa', and Allah made for the Muslims a choice in that, so Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed the verse of tayammum. Verses of the Qur'an were revealed concerning you, so there is no mosque among the mosques of the Muslims in which your exoneration is not recited during the hours of the night and the hours of the day.' She said, 'Leave me from your praise of me, O Ibn 'Abbas. I wish I were a thing forgotten, utterly forgotten.'
