  • Abū Daʾūd

    machine translationRejected (munkar)

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationI find no defect in it except the tadlīs (concealment) of Ibn Jurayj. If an explicit statement of hearing (taṣrīḥ bi-l-samāʿ) from him is found, then in my assessment there is nothing preventing a ruling that it is sound (ṣaḥīḥ).

  • M. ibn Ḥibbān al-Bustī

machine translationHe declared both of them sound, meaning this hadith and the hadith of Anas that the Prophet ﷺ made a ring of silver and then threw it away.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThe preserved (maḥfūẓ) and sound (ṣaḥīḥ) report from Ibn Jurayj, from Ziyād b. Saʿd, from al-Zuhrī, from Anas, is that he saw a gold ring on the hand of the Prophet ﷺ, so the people made rings for themselves, and the Prophet ﷺ threw it away and said: "I will never wear it."

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationIt was narrated by ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith al-Makhzūmī, Ḥajjāj, Abū ʿĀṣim, Hishām b. Sulaymān and Mūsā b. Ṭāriq, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ziyād b. Saʿd, from al-Zuhrī, from Anas, that he saw a gold ring on the hand of the Prophet ﷺ, so the people made rings for themselves, and the Prophet ﷺ threw it away and said: "I will never wear it." machine translationAbū Dāwūd, al-Nasāʾī and al-Bayhaqī declared this hadith weak (ḍaʿīf), but al-Tirmidhī disagreed with them and declared it sound (ṣaḥīḥ). He said in al-Khulāṣah: "That is rejected against him." End of the statement of the one who declared it weak.
