سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زَكَرِيَّا الْعَنْبَرِيَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ يَقُولُ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْبَوْلِ فِي الْأَجْحِرَةِ لِخَبَرِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْجُحْرِ» وَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ إِنَّهَا مَسَاكِنُ الْجِنِّ «وَلَسْتُ أَبُتُّ الْقَوْلَ أَنَّهَا مَسْكَنُ الْجِنِّ لِأَنَّ هَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِ قَتَادَةَ
Translation
✧ I heard Abū Zakariyyā al-‘Anbarī, Yaḥyā b. Muḥammad, say: I heard Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah say: He forbade urinating into holes because of the report of ‘Abd Allāh b. Sarjis that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Let none of you urinate into a hole.” And Qatādah said, “They are dwelling places of the jinn.” “But I will not definitively assert that they are the dwelling places of the jinn, because this is from the statement of Qatādah.”

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ فَقَدِ احْتَجَّا بِجَمِيعِ رُوَاتِهِ وَلَعَلَّ مُتَوَهِّمًا يَتَوَهَّمُ أَنَّ قَتَادَةَ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ سَمَاعَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ وَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِمُسْتَبْعَدٍ فَقَدْ سَمِعَ قَتَادَةُ مِنْ جَمَاعَةٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْهُمْ عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَحْوَلُ وَقَدِ احْتَجَّ مُسْلِمٌ بِحَدِيثِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ وَهُوَ مِنْ سَاكِنِي الْبَصْرَةِ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ»
