✧ Ka'b b. Zuhayr recited to the Prophet ﷺ "Banat Su'ad" in his mosque in Madinah. When he reached his words: "Indeed the Messenger is a sword by which light is sought, a drawn blade from among the swords of Allah, among a band of Quraysh — their spokesman said in the belly of Makkah, when they embraced Islam: 'They departed'" — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ signaled with his sleeve to the people to listen to him. He said: Bujayr b. Zuhayr had written to his brother Ka'b b. Zuhayr b. Abi Sulma, frightening him and calling him to Islam, and he said in it some verses: "Who will convey to Ka'b: Will you accept that which you persist in falsely, while it is more resolute? Turn to Allah alone, not al-'Uzza nor al-Lat, then you will be saved when salvation comes and you will be secure. At a day when none will be saved, and none will escape the Fire except one pure of heart, a Muslim. The religion of Zuhayr — and it is nothing — is false, and the religion of Abi Sulma is forbidden to me."
