✧ I spent a night with the family of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I went to the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the later Isha prayer until no one remained in the mosque except him. He then passed by me and said, "Who is this?" I said, "Abdullah." He said, "So what is it?" I said, "My father commanded me to spend the night with you tonight." He said, "Then follow." When he entered, he said, "Spread a bed for Abdullah." I was brought a cushion made of sackcloth. Al-Abbas had instructed me not to sleep until I had memorized his prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came forward and slept until I heard his snoring. Then he sat upright on his bed, raised his head to the sky, and said, "Glory be to the King, the Most Holy," three times. Then he recited this verse from the end of Surah Al Imran until he completed it: {Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth} [Quran 2:164]. Then he got up, urinated, cleaned his teeth with his siwak, performed ablution, then entered his prayer place and prayed two rak'ahs that were neither short nor long. Then he prayed and performed witr. When he finished his prayer, I heard him say, "O Allah, place light in my sight, place light in my hearing, place light in my tongue, place light in my heart, place light on my right, place light on my left, place light in front of me, place light behind me, place light above me, place light below me, and grant me light on the day I meet You, and magnify light for me."
