حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ مَخْلَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكَارِزِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ النَّخَعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو زُرْعَةَ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ
«مَا وَفَدَ جَرِيرٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا وَفَدْتُ مَعَهُ وَمَا دَخَلَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ إِلَّا دَخَلْتُ مَعَهُ وَمَا دَخَلْنَا مَعَهُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا ذَكَرَ قَتْلَ حُجْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ»
