✧ I passed by people who had gathered around an old man while he was narrating. They made way for me, and behold, an old man was narrating, saying: “O people, three things among you are a trust. Whoever preserves them is a believer, and whoever does not preserve them is not a believer: if he says, 'I prayed,' but did not pray; 'I fasted,' but did not fast; and 'I performed ghusl from janaba,' but did not perform ghusl.” He said: Then someone to my right said: “Who is this?” He said: “Uqba b. Amir al-Juhani, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
