حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُسْتَةَ ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
«آخَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ وَبَيْنَ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ وَشَهِدَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ بَدْرًا وأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتُوُفِّيَ عَامَ غَزَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةَ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِيهِ مُعَاوِيَةَ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَخَمْسِينَ وَقَبْرُهُ بِأَصْلِ حِصْنِ الْقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةِ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ فِيمَا ذُكِرَ يَتَعَاهَدُونَ قَبْرَهُ وَيَزُورُونَهُ وَيَسْتَسْقُونَ بِهِ إِذَا قَحَطُوا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between Abu Ayyub and Mus'ab b. Umayr. Abu Ayyub witnessed Badr, Uhud, the Trench, and all the battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He died in the year Yazid b. Mu'awiya raided Constantinople, during the caliphate of his father Mu'awiya, in the year fifty-two. His grave is at the foot of the fortress of Constantinople in the land of the Romans; it is mentioned that they tend to his grave, visit it, and seek rain through it when they suffer drought.
