✧ I saw Zayd b. ‘Amr b. Nufayl standing, leaning his back against the Ka‘bah, saying, “O people of Quraysh, none of you today is upon the religion of Abraham but me.” He used to revive the buried infant girl: he would say to the man who wanted to kill his daughter, “Wait, do not kill her; I will bear her upkeep for you.” So he would take her, and when she grew up he would say to her father, “If you wish I will hand her over to you, and if you wish I will bear her upkeep for you.”
