machine translationThen Abū Hurayrah mentioned the cat — I do not know whether he said it once or twice. Naṣr b. ʿAlī said: I found it in my father's book in another place, from Qurrah, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayrah, regarding the dog as a connected report attributed to the Prophet (musnad), and regarding the cat as a statement halted at the Companion (mawqūf). Muslim b. Ibrāhīm, from Qurrah, corroborated him in making the mention of the cat mawqūf.
