✧ The virtue of Khubbab b. al-Aratt, also known as Abu Abdullah: The controversy surrounding his lineage has increased, and it was said that Khubbab is an ally of the Banu Zuhra.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ «خَبَّابُ بْنُ الْأَرَتِّ بْنِ جَنْدَلَةَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَعْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ كَانَ فِيمَا ذُكِرَ
أَنَّهُ سُبِيَ بِمَكَّةَ فَاشْتَرَتْهُ أُمُّ أَنْمَارٍ بِنْتُ سِبَاعٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّةُ وَآخَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ خَبَّابٍ وَبَيْنَ جَبْرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ وَشَهِدَ خَبَّابٌ بَدْرًا وأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَتُوُفِّيَ خَبَّابٌ سَنَةَ سَبْعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ سَنَةً»

✧ He was taken captive in Makkah, and Umm Anmar bt. Siba' al-Khuza'iyyah purchased him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between Khabbab and Jabr b. Atik. Khabbab witnessed Badr, Uhud, the Trench, and all the battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Khabbab died in the year thirty-seven, and on that day he was seventy-three years old.
