✧ When the war laid down its burdens, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ boasted, while Talha was silent and Simak b. Kharasha Abu Dujana was silent, not speaking. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I saw myself on the day of Uhud, and there was no creature near me on the earth except Gabriel on my right and Talha on my left." Poetry was said about that [al-bahr al-tawil]: "Talha on the day of the mountain pass sheltered Muhammad at an hour when it was hard and straitened for him. He protected him with his two hands from the spears, so his fingers were cut off beneath the spears and were paralyzed. And he was the imam of the people after Muhammad, he established the mill of Islam until it became stable."
