✧ Hassan b. Thabit, about Talha, without excluding anyone [al-bahr al-munsarih]: "He stood firm when the Prophet gave the greeting, and when all the servants turned away and were exposed. He defended the life-blood of the Prophet while the enemy had drawn near to him and mounted behind. Smeared with blood was his life-blood, for fear that it would be said: their rising turned them back."
