✧ Abu Dharr said to a group with him, "Death has come upon me as you see, and if I had a garment that would suffice me as a shroud or for my companion, I would not be shrouded except in that. I adjure you that none of you who was an 'arif, a naqib, an amir, or a bard should shroud me." The people were nobles: Hujr al-Midri, Malik al-Ashtar, and a group among whom was a man from the Ansar. All the people had attained some rank except the Ansari. He said, "I will shroud you in this cloak of mine and in two garments in my bag woven by my mother for me to wear in ihram." Abu Dharr said, "That suffices me."
