حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ثنا عَبْدَانُ الْأَهْوَزِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثنا عَزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ
أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ وَرَأْسُهُ وَلِحْيَتُهُ كَالثَّغَامَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اخْضِبُوا لِحْيَتَهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ On the day of the conquest, the Prophet ﷺ was brought Abu Quhafa while his head and beard were like the thaghamah plant. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Dye his beard.” Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
