حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ فَأَتَى بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا وَقَفَ بِهِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «غَيِّرُوهُ وَلَا تُقَرِّبُوهُ سَوَادًا» على شرط مسلم

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab took Abu Quhafa by the hand and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. When he stood with him before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Change it and do not bring him near blackness.” — On the condition of Muslim.
