مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ مَوْلًى لِآلِ الْأَزْرَقِ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ الْبَحْرَ وَنَحْمِلُ مَعَنَا الْقَلِيلَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا بِهِ عَطِشْنَا أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ» وَقَدْ تَابَعَ مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ عَلَى رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُزَنِيُّ أَمَا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ زَاذَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ وَأَنْبَأَ أَبُو يُوسُفَ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us, all of them from Malik, from Safwan b. Sulaym, from Sa'id b. Salamah, a freed slave of the family of al-Azraq, that al-Mughirah b. Abi Burdah, a man from Banu 'Abd al-Dar, informed him that he heard Abu Hurayrah say: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allah, we travel by sea and carry with us a small amount of water. If we perform ablution with it, we will thirst. Can we perform ablution with seawater?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is the pure one; its water is purifying, and its dead are lawful.' 'Abd al-Rahman b. Ishaq and Ishaq b. Ibrahim al-Muzani concurred with Malik b. Anas in his narration from Safwan b. Sulaym. As for the hadith of 'Abd al-Rahman b. Ishaq, Abu Bakr b. Ishaq narrated to us, 'Abdullah b. Ayyub b. Zadhan informed us, Muhammad b. al-Minhal narrated to us, Yazid b. Zuray' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Ishaq narrated to us, from Safwan b. Sulaym. He said: And Abu Yusuf b. Ya'qub informed us, Muhammad b. Abi Bakr narrated to us, Yazid b. Zuray' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Ishaq narrated to us, Safwan b. Sulaym narrated to us, from Sa'id b. Salamah, from al-Mughirah b. Abi Burdah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.
