حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْبُخَارِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَّا غُلَامٌ فَقَالُوا مَا نُسَمِّيهِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «سَمُّوهُ بِأَحَبِّ الْأَسْمَاءِ إِلَيَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ يعقوب بن كاسب ضعيف

✧ A son was born to a man among us, and they said, "What shall we name him?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name him after the most beloved of names to me: Hamza b. Abd al-Muttalib." Sahih isnad, but they did not include it. Ya'qub b. Kasib is weak.
