حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَشْعَثِ السِّجِسْتَانِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ بُرْدٍ الْأَنْطَاكِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُمِّ جَعْفَرٍ أُمِّهِ عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَتَاهَا يَوْمًا فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ ابْنَايَ؟» فَقَالَتْ ذَهَبَ بِهِمَا عَلِيٌّ فَتَوَجَّهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدَهُمَا يَلْعَبَانِ فِي مَشْرُبَةٍ وَبَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمَا فَضْلٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَقَالَ «يَا عَلِيُّ أَلَا تَقْلِبُ ابْنِي قَبْلَ الْحَرِّ» وَذَكَرَ بَاقِي الْحَدِيثِ «مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى هَذَا هُوَ ابْنُ مَشْمُولٍ مَدِينِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ وَعَوْنُ هَذَا هُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ هُوَ وَأَبُوهُ ثِقَتَانِ وَأُمُّ جَعْفَرٍ هِيَ ابْنَةُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ وَجَدْتُهَا أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ وَكُلُّهُمْ أَشْرَافٌ ثِقَاتٌ» بل محمد ضعفوه

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to her one day and said: 'Where are my two sons?' She said: 'Ali took them.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned and found them playing in an upper room, with some leftover dates before them. He said: 'O Ali, will you not turn my son away before the heat?' And he mentioned the rest of the hadith. 'This Muhammad b. Musa is Ibn Mashmul, a Madinan, trustworthy. This Awn is Ibn Muhammad b. Ubayd Allah b. Abi Rafi'; he and his father are trustworthy. Umm Ja'far is the daughter of al-Qasim b. Muhammad b. Abi Bakr al-Siddiq, and her grandmother is Asma' bt. Abi Bakr al-Siddiq. All of them are noble and trustworthy.' But Muhammad was deemed weak.
