سَمِعْتُ الْقَاضِيَ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحَسَنِ الْجَرَّاحِيَّ وَأَبَا الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُظَفَّرِ الْحَافِظِ يَقُولَانِ سَمِعْنَا أَبَا حَامِدٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ هَارُونَ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مَنْصُورٍ الطُّوسِيَّ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ يَقُولُ «مَا جَاءَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْفَضَائِلِ مَا جَاءَ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ I heard Ahmad b. Hanbal say: "No virtues have come for any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like what has come for Ali b. Abi Talib." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
