حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَدْلُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ سَالِمٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ
«إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي النَّوْمِ أَنِّي أُعْطِيتُ عُسًّا مَمْلُوءًا لَبَنًا فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَمَلَأْتُ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُهُ فِي عِرْقٍ بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَاللَّحْمِ فَفَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ فَأَعْطَيْتُهَا عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ» فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ هَذَا عِلْمٌ أَعْطَاكَهُ اللَّهُ فَمَلَأْتَ مِنْهُ فَفَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ وَأَعْطَيْتَهَا عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ «أَصَبْتُمْ»

✧ I saw in a dream that I was given a large wooden bowl full of milk, and I drank from it until I was full, until I saw it in a vein between the skin and the flesh. Then there remained a leftover, so I gave it to Umar b. al-Khattab. They said: 'O Prophet of Allah, this is knowledge that Allah gave you, and you were filled with it, then a leftover remained and you gave it to Umar b. al-Khattab.' He said: 'You have spoken correctly.'
