حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الرُّوَاسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ يُثَيْعٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«إِنْ تُوَلُّوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ زَاهِدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا رَاغِبًا فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَإِنْ تُوَلُّوا عُمَرَ تَجِدُوهُ قَوِيًّا أَمِينًا لَا تَأْخُذُهُ فِي اللَّهِ تَعَالَى لَوْمَةُ لَائِمٍ وَإِنْ تُوَلُّوا عَلِيًّا تَجِدُوهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا يَسْلُكُ بِكُمُ الطَّرِيقَ»

✧ "If you entrust authority to Abu Bakr, you will find him abstemious in this world and desirous of the Hereafter. If you entrust authority to 'Umar, you will find him strong and trustworthy; the blame of a critic does not affect him regarding Allah the Exalted. If you entrust authority to 'Ali, you will find him a guide and rightly guided, who will lead you along the path."

  • هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَشَاهِدَهُ حَدِيثُ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِضعيف

    سئل الدارقطني عنه فذكر الاختلاف فيه وقال إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن زيد بن يثيع مرسلا لم يذكر عليا ولا حذيفة والمرسل أشبه بالصواب وكان ذكره عن سليمان وعن حذيفة

    machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī was asked about it, and he mentioned the disagreement concerning it and said: Isrāʾīl narrated from Abū Isḥāq, from Zayd b. Yuthayʿ, as a mursal report, not mentioning ʿAlī or Ḥudhayfah, and the mursal version is closer to being correct. He had mentioned it from Sulaymān and from Ḥudhayfah.

    هو حديث يرويه زيد بن يثيع واختلف عنه فرواه أبو إسحاق واختلف عن أبي إسحاق أيضا فقال يونس بن أبي إسحاق وإسرائيل من رواية عبد الحميد بن أبي جعفر الفراء عنه وفضيل بن مرزوق وجميل الخياط عن أبي إسحاق عن زيد ابن يثيع عن علي وقال الحسن بن قتيبة عن يونس بن إسحاق عن أبي إسحاق عن زيد بن يثيع عن سلمان الفارسي وقال الثوري عن أبي إسحاق عن زيد بن يثيع عن حذيفة وقال شريك عن أبي إسحاق وعثمان أبي اليقظان عن أبي وائل عن حذيفة وقال إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن زيد بن يثيع مرسلا لم يذكر عليا ولا حذيفة والمرسل أشبه بالصواب
