✧ Narrated Abu Muayhibah, who was a guardian of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke me up one night and said, 'O Abu Muayhibah, go and seek forgiveness, for I have been commanded to seek forgiveness for the people of Baqi' (the graveyard in Medina).' So I went with him. When we reached Baqi', he said, 'Peace be upon you, O people of Baqi', may what you are in this morning be good for you. If you knew what Allah has saved you from, the trials would have approached you like thick darkness following after darkness. Then he said, 'O Abu Muayhibah, Allah has chosen for me to be given the treasures of the earth, eternal life in it, and then Paradise, and the meeting with my Lord Almighty.' I said, 'May I be your sacrifice, both my parents are offered to you. Take the keys of the treasures of this earth, and eternal life in it, then Paradise.' He said, 'No, O Abu Muayhibah, I have chosen to meet my Lord Almighty.' Then he sought forgiveness for the people of Baqi' and left. When he began the prayer in the morning, he would begin his prayer by complaining about that day when he was taken (from this world)." (Source: Al-Bukhari)
