✧ Sarah was ninety years old and Abraham one hundred and twenty. When the fear left Abraham and the good news of Isaac came to him and he was safe from the one he feared, he said: "Praise be to God who bestowed upon me in old age Ishmael and Isaac; indeed my Lord hears supplication." Gabriel ﷺ came to Sarah with the good news and said: "Rejoice in a son called Isaac, and after Isaac, Jacob." She struck her forehead in amazement, and that is His saying, exalted: {She struck her face} [Al-Dhariyat 29]. She said: "Shall I bear a child when I am an old woman and this my husband is an old man? This is indeed a strange thing." They said: "Are you amazed at God's command? The mercy of God and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. He is praiseworthy, glorious."
