حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْدَانَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَعْدَةَ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ
«فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ قُرَيْشًا بِسَبْعِ خِلَالٍ؛ أَنِّي فِيهِمْ وَأَنَّ النُّبُوَّةَ فِيهِمْ وَالْحِجَابَةَ فِيهِمْ وَالسِّقَايَةَ فِيهِمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ نَصَرَهُمْ عَلَى الْفِيلِ وَأَنَّهُمْ عَبَدُوا اللَّهَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ لَا يَعْبُدُهُ غَيْرُهُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ فِيهِمْ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ» ثُمَّ تَلَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ {لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ}

✧ “Allah favored Quraysh with seven qualities: that I am among them, that prophethood is among them, that the Hijabah (care of the Ka’bah) is among them, that the Siqayah (providing water to pilgrims) is among them, that Allah aided them against the elephant, that they worshiped Allah for ten years when no one else worshiped Him, and that Allah revealed a surah of the Quran concerning them.” Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. {For the security of Quraysh, their security in the winter and summer journeys, let them worship the Lord of this House, who fed them against hunger and secured them from fear}.”
