✧ The Interpretation of Surah al-Muddaththir

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ثنا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ثنا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ ثنا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ {وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ} قَالَ يَقُولُ رَبُّكُمْ ﷻ أَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أُتَّقَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَأَنَا أَهْلٌ لِمَنِ اتَّقَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا آخَرَ أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite: {And you do not will except that Allah wills, He is the One worthy of piety and worthy of forgiveness}. He said, "Your Lord ﷻ says: I am worthy to be feared, that another god should be made with Me, and I am worthy for whoever fears to make another god with Me, that I forgive him."

  • «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» صحيح
