حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ قَالَا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ مُجَمِّعَ بْنَ جَارِيَةَ يَقُولُ أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ حَتَّى بَلَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُرَاعَ الْغَمِيمِ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ يَرْسُمُونَ نَحْوَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ لِبَعْضٍ مَا لِلنَّاسِ؟ قَالُوا أُوحِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ فَحَرَّكْنَا حَتَّى وَجَدْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ كُرَاعِ الْغَمِيمِ وَاقِفًا فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ قَرَأَ عَلَيْهِمْ {إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا} [الفتح 1] فَقَالَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ أَوَ فَتْحٌ هُوَ؟ قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُ لَفَتْحٌ»

✧ I heard Mujammiʿ b. Jāriyah say: We returned with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from al-Ḥudaybiyyah until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached Kurāʿ al-Ghamīm, when people were making marks (or drawing lines) toward the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Some people said to others, “What is with the people?” They said, “Revelation has come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” Some people said, “We urged our mounts until we found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing at Kurāʿ al-Ghamīm.” When the people gathered around him, he recited to them: “Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory” [al-Fatḥ: 1]. Some people said, “Is it a victory?” He said, “By the One in whose hand is my soul, it is indeed a victory.”
