حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْقَاضِي بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثنا عَوْفٌ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ
مَا أَهْلَكَ اللَّهُ قَوْمًا وَلَا قَرْنًا وَلَا أُمَّةً وَلَا أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ مُنْذُ أَنْزَلَ التَّوْرَاةَ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ بِعَذَابٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي مُسِخَتْ قِرَدَةً أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الْأُولَى بَصَائِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهَدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ}

✧ Allah has not destroyed any people, generation, nation, or people of a town with a punishment from the sky since He sent down the Torah upon the face of the earth, except the people of the town that was transformed into apes. Do you not see the statement of Allah, exalted is He: {And We gave Musa the Scripture after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that perhaps they might remember}?
