أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ الْعَصْرَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ «رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ» فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ «مَا صَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةً إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ كَفَّارَةً لِلَّتِي أَمَامَهَا»

✧ I prayed 'Asr next to Ibn 'Umar and heard him say in his bowing: 'My Lord, because of the blessings You have bestowed on me, I will never be a supporter of the criminals.' When he finished, he said: 'I have never prayed a prayer except that I hope it will be an expiation for the one after it.'
