✧ Quraysh said to the Prophet ﷺ, “Call upon Allah, your Lord, to make al-Ṣafā into gold for us, and we will believe in you.” He said, “Will you do it?” They said, “Yes.” So he called upon Allah, and Gabriel came to him and said, “Your Lord sends you greetings of peace and says: If you wish, al-Ṣafā will become gold for them by morning; then whoever disbelieves among them, I will punish him with a punishment with which I have not punished anyone in the worlds. And if you wish, I will open for them the gates of repentance and mercy.” He said, “O Lord, the gate of repentance and mercy.”
