حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَوَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَا ثنا شُعْبَةُ وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي بِهَمْدَانَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ} [آل عمران 102] قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قُطِرَتْ فِي بِحَارِ الْأَرْضِ لَفَسَدَتْ» وَفِي حَدِيثِ وَهْبِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ «لَأَمَرَّتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مَعَايِشَهُمْ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ تَكُونُ طَعَامَهُ؟»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse: 'O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims' (Al Imran 102), then said: 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, if a single drop of zaqqūm were to fall into the seas of the earth, it would corrupt them.' In the narration of Wahb b. Jarīr: 'It would embitter the livelihoods of the people of the world, so how about the one whose food it is?'
