حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحِيرِيُّ ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ قَطَنٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

نِعْمَ الْعِدْلَانِ وَنِعْمَ الْعِلَاوَةُ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ أُولَئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ نِعْمَ الْعِدْلَانِ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ نِعْمَ الْعِلَاوَةُ

✧ What excellent two burdens, and what an excellent addition: those who, when affliction strikes them, say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we will return.' Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy—what excellent two burdens—and it is those who are guided—what an excellent addition.
