حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ
كَانَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ صَدِيقٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يُكَاتِبُهُ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَكَلَّمْتَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْقَدْرِ فَإِيَّاكَ أَنْ تُكْتَبَ إِلَيَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي أَقْوَامٌ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِالْقَدَرِ»

✧ Ibn Umar had a friend from the people of Syria with whom he corresponded. Abdullah b. Umar wrote to him: It has reached me that you have spoken about something concerning divine decree. Beware of writing to me [about that], for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'There will be among my community people who deny divine decree.'
