✧ When Ammar ibn Yasir was killed, Amr ibn Hazm went to Amr ibn al-As and said, "Ammar has been killed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The rebellious group will kill him.'" Amr ibn al-As stood up in alarm and went to Muawiyah. Muawiyah asked him, "What's the matter with you?" Amr replied, "Ammar has been killed." Muawiyah said, "So, Ammar has been killed, what about it?" Amr responded, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The rebellious group will kill him.'" Muawiyah then said to him, "Did your own urine delude you? Did we kill him? Ali and his companions are the ones who brought him here until they threw him amidst our spears." (or he said, "amidst our swords").
