✧ "Whoever leaves the community by a handspan has cast off the yoke of Islam from his neck until he returns to it." He said, "And whoever dies without having upon him an imam of the community, his death is a death of ignorance." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a sermon and said: "O people, I am your predecessor at the Pond, and its width is what is between Kufa and the Black Stone, and its vessels are as numerous as the stars. And I saw some people of my community, when they came near to me, a man went out against them and said, 'Take them away from me.' Then another group came, and he did the same to them, and none of them escaped except like the cattle." Abu Bakr said to 'Ali, "Are they from them, O Prophet of Allah?" He said, "No, but they are a people who will come after you and walk backwards."
