✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on one of his expeditions. I and another man came to him before we had accepted Islam, and we said, 'We feel ashamed that our people should witness a scene without us.' He said, 'Have you two accepted Islam?' We said, 'No.' He said, 'We do not seek help from the polytheists against the polytheists.' So we accepted Islam and witnessed (the battle) with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I killed a man, and that man struck me a blow. Then I married his daughter, and she used to say, 'May you not lack a man who has fastened this sash upon you!' I would say, 'May you not lack a man who hastened your father to the Fire!'
