machine translation"This is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith meeting the criterion of the two Shaykhs, though they did not narrate it with this wording or with this chain of transmission." They only agreed upon the hadith of Maḥmūd b. al-Rabīʿ, from ʿItbān b. Mālik, the long hadith, at the end of which is: "And indeed Allah has forbidden the Fire to whoever says: there is no god but Allah" (the hadith). They also both narrated it through the hadith of Shuʿbah, Bishr b. al-Mufaḍḍal and Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ, from al-Walīd Abū Bishr, from Ḥumrān, from ʿUthmān, from the Prophet ﷺ: "Whoever dies knowing that there is no god but Allah enters Paradise." It does not mention ʿUmar. It has a corroborating report (shāhid) with this chain from ʿUthmān, which they did not narrate, [and it meets their criterion].
