حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ وَعَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الدَّالَانِيِّ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ فِرَاسٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ قَالَ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ «هَا هُنَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ؟» فَنَادَى ثَلَاثًا لَا يُجِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي مَاتَ بَيْنَكُمْ قَدِ احْتُبِسَ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ الدَّيْنِ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَافْدُوهُ وَإِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَأَسْلِمُوهُ إِلَى عَذَابِ اللَّهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one day and said: “Is there anyone here from Banu So-and-so?” He called out three times, and no one answered him. Then he said: “The man who died among you has been withheld from Paradise because of the debt he owed. If you wish, ransom him; and if you wish, hand him over to Allah’s punishment.”
