حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْعَدْلُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ الشَّعْبِيُّ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ قَالَ
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَلَمَّا أَقْبَلَ قَالَ «هَا هُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ؟» فَسَكَتَ الْقَوْمُ وَكَانَ إِذَا ابْتَغَاهُمْ بِشَيْءٍ سَكَتُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ هَذَا فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ قَدْ حُبِسَ عَلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ بِدَيْنٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عَلَيَّ دَيْنُهُ فَقَضَاهُ وَهَكَذَا رَوَاهُ فِرَاسٌ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one day, and when he finished he said: “Is there anyone here from Banu So-and-so?” The people remained silent, for when he sought them for something they would stay silent. Then he said: “Is there anyone here from Banu So-and-so?” A man said: “Here is so-and-so.” He said: “Your companion has been detained at the gate of Paradise because of a debt he owed.” A man said: “I will pay his debt,” and he paid it. This is how Firas narrated it from al-Sha‘bi.
