✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had on two Qatari cloaks that were thick and coarse. I said: “O Messenger of Allah, your two garments are coarse and thick, and you sweat in them so they become heavy on you. So-and-so has received cloth from Syria; if you sent to him and took from him two garments on credit until a time of ease.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to him, and he said: “I know what Muhammad wants: he wants to take my two garments and delay payment for them.” The messenger came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and the Prophet ﷺ said: “He has lied. They know that I am the most God-fearing of them and the most fulfilling of trust.”
