فَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوْحٍ الْمَدَايِنِيُّ ثنا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ

أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهَا السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِي أُعْطِيتُ» «وَقَدْ وَجَدْتُ لِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ شَاهِدًا فِي سَمَاعِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْمَدَنِيِّينَ»

✧ He recited to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds," until he completed it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, it is the seven oft-repeated verses and the great Qur'an that I was given." "And I found a corroborating witness for the hadith of 'Abd al-Hamid b. Ja'far in Abu Hurayrah's hearing of this hadith from Ubayy b. Ka'b from the hadith of the Madinans."
