✧ A bedouin came to Umar and asked him about the religion. He said, "O Commander of the Faithful, teach me the religion." He said, "You bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, you establish the prayer, you give the zakat, you fast Ramadan, you perform the Hajj to the House, and you must adhere to openness and beware of secret matters, and beware of everything of which you would be ashamed." He said, "Then when you meet Allah, you will say: 'Umar b. al-Khattab commanded me to do this.'" He said, "O servant of Allah, take hold of this, and when you meet Allah, the Exalted, say whatever seems appropriate to you."
