حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْحَجُّ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ أَوْ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً؟ قَالَ «مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَمَنْ أَرَادَ فَيَتَطَوَّعُ» هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ هَذَا هُوَ الدُّؤَلِيُّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَمْ يُخَرِّجَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حُسَيْنٍ وَهُوَ مِنَ الثِّقَاتِ الَّذِينَ يُجْمَعُ حَدِيثُهُمْ

✧ that al-Aqra' b. Habis asked the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "O Messenger of Allah, is Hajj every year or once only?" He said, "Once only, and whoever does more, it is voluntary." This is a sound chain of transmission, and this Abu Sinan is al-Du'ali. They did not include it, for they did not include Sufyan b. Husayn, but he is among the trustworthy whose hadith is collected.
