machine translationHe said it is a broken-chain (munqaṭiʿ) hadith and that Masrūq did not meet Muʿādh, then he corrected himself at the end of the issue and said: We found that in the hadith of Masrūq only Muʿādh's action in Yemen regarding the zakāh of cattle is mentioned, and Masrūq, without doubt in our view, reached Muʿādh with his age and his intellect.

machine translationThe rejected (munkar) report is the narration of Abū Muʿāwiyah from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from Masrūq, from Muʿādh. As for the narration of al-Aʿmash from Abū Wāʾil, from Masrūq, it is preserved (maḥfūẓ). As for the hadith of al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm, the correct version is from al-Aʿmash, from Shaqīq, from Masrūq; and al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm, both of them said: "Muʿādh said..." and so on.
